Environmental Nutrition: Can nutrition help you increase longevity?

We are continuously on the search for improved longevity — scientists, researchers and everyday people participate in the quest to identify ways to live longer while maintaining good health for as long as possible. The evidence that has been gathered over time has shown us that there are many behaviors and practices that are linked with longer lives. The following includes a handful of suggestions that are linked with increased longevity. Which ones will you try?

Go nuts. Including small portions of nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, can help to promote heart health and is linked with reduced risk of death from cancer, heart disease, and more.

Include plant protein in your day. We know that processed meats (think deli meats and hot dogs) are linked with higher risk of death, but did you know that people who consumed plant proteins had a lower risk?

Find the fun. Search for ways to bring silliness and sources of joy into your life and reap the positive benefits that fun and happiness can have on overall longevity.
