Chris Lytle Success Tip: What has to change?

on

Published in Business Success Tip

Success can be deceptive. When things are going well, it is comforting to believe that they will always go well. Jim Dickie of CSO Insights nails this kind of thinking with this statement: "Level two companies are driven by ‘tribal folklore’—the belief that, 'If we keep doing the best practices of the past, we will keep hitting our numbers in the future.' These types of companies tend to be successful, but only as long as there are no major changes in the way business is done in their marketplace."

Are there some "best practices" of the past that could be discarded or improved in light of current conditions or new technologies? What is it? What one small next step can you take to update that "best practice"?
